One of the best ways to explore new worlds and new ideas is by reading. Reading can be an enjoyable activity for even the reluctant reader.
By following the procedures listed here, you will get a chance to explore many facts about the titles and the authors who have written the works chosen for you by the English Language Arts staff.
Remember, reading is a skill that improves with practice.
A fun way to get you excited about reading is our annual Summer Reading. All of the listed titles can be accessed through the Library Media Center and are available in multiple formats such as print, audio-books and eBooks. If someone has already checked out all our available copies, you may check the availability at any public library in the state of MA.
By using the Interactive Title Guide you will be prepared for Summer Reading 
By utilizing this resource you will be able to:
  • understand what media options are available to you in the title you choose to explore.
  • understand how to access the title in ebook and digital audio book format
  • explore information about the author
  • read or listen to interviews & reviews of the title by teens like you and well known reviewers
  • access the author's website and learn more about them and their work
  • watch video clips with author speaking about their work

Learning Objectives:
Students will be able to:
  • Execute basic search about the title and find more information about the author by visiting author's website and  watching  video clips with author explaining their work.
  • By reading and  listening to reviews of the title, students will think critically about the title they wish to engage with for summer reading and be prepared to complete the required follow up assignment.
  • Know how to access Ebooks in Follett Destiny
  • Know how to Sign In, Highlight passages in the reading, Take notes in the page being read and print the information at a later time.
  • Know where to find print media copies of Summer Reading titles within the Library Media Center.
  • Know how to access and use Book Share (only for approved students)
  • *Please note holds for Summer Reading titles in Follett Destiny will not be accepted. ​

Each grade has their own unique set of amazing reads for you to choose from. To find out about the title and author, click the images in and hyperlinks in the guide of your upcoming grade.
For students entering Sophomore year, click this link to access the 10th grade interactive title guide or use the top navigation menu.
For students entering Junior year, click this link to access the 11th grade interactive title guide or use the top navigation menu.
For students entering Senior year, click this link to access the 12th grade interactive title guide or use the top navigation menu.
Please note that there is an assignment. Here is part of what is outlined in the introduction :Choose a book from the provided list of summer reading books. Consider researching the books and previewing their content before making your final selection. Read your chosen book. Then choose and complete a project from the list to demonstrate your understanding of the book. Follow the

Copies of print media are available in the non fiction section of Library Media Center. All titles are arranged according to  last name  of author. Please keep books organized at all times. 
If there are no additional copies of print media, you may choose to either go to step 3 (Options for accessing your title/s in digital media)of the guide or you may try reserving a copy at your town library.
Town library catalogs can be accessed from the LMC portal under Catalogs menu, sub menu- Your Town Library-choose your town from the list.

​Step 3 - Options for accessing your title/s in digital media

Some of the titles are currently available as digital media. What are some of the advantages of reading a title in Digital format?
  • Highlight parts of the texts
  • Take notes directly in the application
  • Have your notes and highlightes organized in one place and print them at any time.
  • Use bookmark features
  • Arrange font size according to your preferences.
There are two options for you to access titles in digital meida format. Some titles  are avaialble through FollettShelf and some through Overdrive. Below you can learn more about how to access and use each system for reading and listening to titles you want. Below you will learn all you need to know to  log in and take advantage of completing your summer reading with digital media.

​​OverDrive catalog provides you access to the Commonwealth eBook collection.
​Sora is the companion app that allows you to access the  catalog and read or listen to your title on your mobile cellular device.

​How do I access Follett Destiny Classic or Destiny Discover

To access Follett Shelf you need to be in Destiny.

  1. Begin at the school website.
  2. Navigate to the Students & Parents Menu
  3. Drop down to the Library Media  Center Link ( This will take you away from the school website to LMC portal website).
  4. Upon arrival  find the catalog menu and click Destiny Classic or Discover
  5. To access the catalog in classic Click the  hyperlink with the school name- Tri County RVTHS
  6. You are now in the catalog as a guest. You will see on the right a login link. Please click and login using only your student ID number and password.
  7. If using Destiny Discover you will go through the same process as above.

How do I access OverDrive or Sora?

To access OverDrive you need to be on the LMC Portal
  1. Begin at the school website.
  2. Navigate to the Students & Parents Menu
  3. Drop down to the Library Media  Center Link ( This will take you away from the school website to LMC portal website).
  4. Upon arrival  find the catalog menu and click OverDrive
  5. After you find a book it will ask you to sign in using your Tri0 County Credential ( (student [email protected])
  6. If you wanted to use the Sora app you would first download it from the app store and go through the sign in process as above.

What do I do once I find a digital title I want to access through Destiny?

  1. ​You will see either an open ( for eBook) or play( (for audio book).
  2. A screen will pop up asking you to continue from Destiny catalog website to the OverDrive website where you will continue to check out the digital title.
  3. Continue with following the direction on the right side of this page

What do I do once I find a digital title I want to access through OverDrive?( The same applies for Sora)

If the title is available it will allow you to borrow. If not, It will allow you to place a hold.
​If title is available you will go through the sign in procedure. If you are already signed in, you will click the borrow link and begin reading or listening
How long can I hold on to a Title from Destiny?

Any print title borrowed through the LMC can be kept as long as you are reading it
A digital title is yours for 20 days. If someone has placed a hold on it, you will have to go and place a hold after it is automatically returned to the digital shelf
